Olefin

Unsaturated hydrocarbon. Olefins such as ethylene and propylene are produced from crude-oil fraction or natural gas. They serve as base materials for polymer (plastic) and other chemical products.

Olefin polymerization

Manufacture of polyethylene and polypropylene.

Oligomerization

Chemical reaction among monomers, creating higher molecular compounds.

Oxidation catalysis

Oxidative manufacture of basic chemicals, such as phthalic acid, using catalysts.
